Where could a Field Journal Mission fit?
Select a route that supports your pupils and school priorities. Missions create opportunities to think independently, explore evidence, articulate ideas and reflect. Curriculum connections are optional, not a claim that a Mission alone delivers an entire programme of study.
PSHE / Personal Development
Explore choices, perspectives, empathy, responsibility and thoughtful action where a Mission's content provides an appropriate link.
English
Develop reading for meaning, vocabulary, discussion, spoken explanation and reflective writing.
Science
Use observations, questions, evidence and explanations as starting points for investigations.
Geography
Consider environments, places, people, systems and the consequences of change.
Art & Design
Respond through observation, visual interpretation, making and creative communication.
Class time & enrichment
Use Missions in cross-curricular sessions, small groups, clubs or other flexible learning time.
One Mission. Many depths.
Begin with the Field Journal as an independent thinking experience, then choose whether to extend it into subject-specific work. A regular rhythm may help, but there is no required fortnightly timetable in England.
